Property Information

Finsbury Park is situated in North London. Finsbury Park Station is a major bus, rail and tube interchange near the south end of the public park also called Finsbury Park. Both the station and park have been greatly improved over the past few years.

The station now has a silver front over looking the busy junction of Stroud Green, Blackstock Road, and Seven Sisters Road. Seven Sisters Road is where the main shopping area is situated with both independent shops and those with High Street names.

The park has had a great deal of redevelopment funded mostly by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The park has been restored to its former glory with added attractions. There is a lake, football pitches, an athletic stadium, basketball and tennis courts, American football pitch and baseball diamond. There is also a skate park, and dog free play area with a water feature designed by children for children. The park has a café, toilet facilities and Victorian styled sheltered seating.

Finsbury Park area was once considered rough but now has a much better name especially since the mosque that bought much unwanted publicity to the area came under new leadership in 2003.

To the south is Highbury and Islington and although the houses in both areas are identical Finsbury Park’s property tends to be cheaper with large three bedroom Victorian properties selling a £500,000 but with one bedroom flats as low as £150,000 first time buyers are getting the change to get a foothold on the property ladder.

The area is only fifteen minutes from Oxford Street and is a young vibrant area with many residents being in their 20’s and 30’s. There is also a large community of North Africans.

Finsbury Park is home to many pubs and restaurants with new cafes popping up over night. Property for rent is available at costs of approximately £80-£240pw for a l bed flat, £210-280pw for a 2 bed flat and £280-£360pw for a 3 bed flat.

Unfortunately the crime rate is higher here than the national average. On the bright side for football enthusiasts Arsenal Football Club’s new Emirates Stadium is nearby.
