Deal is a town on the English Channel in Kent.
The town is home to Deal Castle built by Henry VIII it is definitely worth visiting and guided tours can be taken and tapes in many languages can be hired.
Beneath the town are a considerable number of smugglers tunnels many of which lead to churches.
The Naval shipyard in Deal provides the town with plenty of trade.
Deal used to be the home of the Royal Marines School of Music,now in Portsmouth, but the Marines return annually to hold a concert on the bandstand. The concert attracts over 4,000 people.
Many of the buildings and shops in Victoria Road date back to the 1800’s.
The shopping area is pedestrianised with many stores and towards the east of town can be found a large selection of independent shops. Some of the shops in town are Noir Ladies Fashions, Two’s Co, M & Co, Corolla Cream Ltd, James Terry, Jean Store and Klan.

There are plenty of restaurants serving traditional English, Chinese, Indian, Thai and Italian dishes. There are a number of cafes in the High Street and the seafront has a few sandwich bars.
