Buckingham is in North Buckinghamshire only ten miles from the Northamptonshire border.

Buckingham was originally the county town of Buckinghamshire but lost this status to Aylesbury in the 16th century. The town fought hard but never managed to regain the title.

Buckingham is typically a small English, hilly, market town with a selection of shops that include Vanillapie, No 8, Jilly Sanders, Ginny’s and Menswear. Larger shops such as Woolworths, Budgens and Tesco also have stores in the town.

Markets are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays and on the first Tuesday of each month a Farmers Market is held.

The town is home to a good selection of public houses and The Cobham Arms, Swan and Castle and The White Hart all have preserved coach entrances. These date back to the days of stagecoaches.

There is a large selection of eating houses in Buckingham, these include cafes, fast food restaurants and a good choice of larger restaurants including Chinese, Portuguese, French, Indian and Mexican along with, of course, those serving more traditional fayre.

There is plenty of short-term car parks around town and these are free.
